The project will help in achieving sustainable improvement in the provision of sanitation services in Abidjan and 11 secondary cities. The planned outcome includes, raising the country's fecal sludge treatment rate from 15% (in 2016) to 57%. This will allow the quantity of treated fecal sludge discharged into the natural human environment to conform to the national standards of <150mg/l. Additionally, the project will also reduce communicable disease burden and under-5 child mortality rate.
